Farewell Old Friend - My sweet "puppy"

Driving home from a fantastic weekend in Washington, DC, where over a MILLION patriotic American gathered to confirm their dedication to the Constitution of the United States of America, was more difficult for me than for the other participants of the historic rally.
I knew all the way home, that I would not be unpacking my bags...not just yet.
I would have to dig a grave in my back yard.
Then I would have to prepare a makeshift "coffin" for our beloved pet, and longtime companion, Pepper.
She was buried with her favorite squeeze toy, a couple of her favorite brand of "bones", (she loved IAMS), a small Panda-bear stuffed toy, and her leash.
There is now a solar light above her, to keep her in our thoughts, and we'll have some sort of marker soon.

Yes, we're grieving. But we know that she has crossed that "Rainbow Bridge" and will be there waiting...tail wagging as it ALWAYS did, to greet us when we meet again.

So read the Poem by Rudyard Kipling, and take 10 minutes out of your lives to watch a great episode of "The Twilight Zone". And remember YOUR dog.

If you've never had a dog, you're missing out on one of God's greatest gifts to his human creations.

I've had the "Sunday Mornings News Shows" on all morning, and have yet to hear ONE WORD about the FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY of Teddy the terrible two-ton pantload killing this beautiful young woman. Go figure.

Cape Cod Today captures the "event". But I ain't seein' much else anywhere else.

This day should be forever remembered as
MaryJo Kopechne Day.
The Patron Saint of keeping Ted from EVER being President should be forever praised.

She gave her live (though not willingly), to keep that fat, drunken, pompous, addled, pantload OUT of the Oval Office for the rest of his.

(But this of course, is an insult to fat, drunken, pompous, addled, pantloads everywhere).

God Bless her eternal soul...and damn his forever.

Will Ted ever pay for his sins? Only God can make that decision.

The Connecticut 612

It is truly fitting, that on Armed Forces Day, the Connecticut Vietnam Memorial was finally dedicated.

Displayed on what is now hallowed ground, in the little town of Coventry and not far from the resting place of Captain Nathan Hale, this memorial honors the 612 of Connecticut who gave their lives, so that others may live in freedom.

The day was clear, and the ceremony held under a cloudless blue sky.

At one point during the dedication a brisk wind picked up, just as the speaker was mentioning the 612.

I like to think that it was the spirit of those brave soldiers, uttering a universal sigh, that their sacrifice was finally being honored.

A wind of change, that whispered to the gathered crowd..."never again".

Captain Hale was standing shoulder to shoulder with the 612 today...
and all of them were smiling.

My congratulations to the people of Coventry, Connecticut. The students who started the project, the businesses who supported it, and the state and local officials who recognized the long overdue need to honor Connecticut's 612.

God Bless them all. And God Bless the United States of America!

Even my 82 year old, dyed-in-the-wool, Boston-Irish, Democrat for life Uncle says that he may just have to vote Republican this year...for the first time in his life.

Why will I be in Washington DC next weekend? Because I refuse to allow the troops of today, to be treated as the fine people who fought in Vietnam.

It's already happening again...but I hear the voices that speak softly from the dark granite of The Wall..."never again".

Just because I wasn't there, doesn't mean I don't care.

Whatever your position on this war...we are THERE...NOW. To abandon the mission is to disrespect all those who have died for it.

Just look at the groups that are protesting next weekend...A.N.S.W.E.R., BlackBloc, Code-Pinko, etc, etc... They're NOT "for" America...they're NOT "for" "the troops". No matter how much you may want to believe that they are. Their core beliefs and principles are FOR the defeat of America, and the defeat of our military...and an END to both. One doesn't "support the troops" by desecrating their memorials, by burning them in effigy, by marching against their commander and their mission, by shiite-ing on their flag!

Look at the pictures above and you tell me...which group is really on the side of freedom?

Victory. Victory. NOTHING LESS THAN VICTORY.

How can you be "for" America and the troops, and want anything else?

We are Brooks Brother’s suit wearers, doing deals downtown. We are housewives, and grandparents and even church deacons. We are college professors engaged in the rational pursuit of the truth about the history of politics or culture of the Vietnam experience.

And we are sleepless…often sleepless. We pushed paper; we pushed shovels. We drove jeeps, operated bulldozers, built bridges; we toted machine guns through dense brush, deep paddy, and thorn scrub. We lived on buffalo milk, fish heads and Rice, C-rations or steaks and Budweiser. We did our time in high mountains drenched by endless monsoon rains or on the dry plains or on muddy rivers or at the most beautiful beaches in the world. We wore berets, bandanas, flop hats, and steel pots. Flak jackets, canvas, rash and rot. We ate quinine and got malaria anyway. We got shots constantly but have diseases nobody can diagnose. We spent our nights on cots or shivering in foxholes filled with waist high water or lying still on cold wet ground, our eyes imagining Charlie behind every bamboo blade. We slept in hotel beds in Saigon or barracks in Thailand or in cramped ships' berths at sea.

We feared we would die or we feared we would kill. We simply feared, and often we still do. We hated the war or believe it was the best thing that ever happened to
us. We blame Uncle Sam or Uncle Ho and their minions and secretaries and apologists for every wart or cough or tic of an eye. We wonder if Agent Orange got us. Mostly–and this I believe with all my heart–mostly, we wish we had not been so alone.
Some of us went with units; but many, probably most of us, were civilians one day, jerked up out of "the world," shaved, barked at, insulted, humiliated, de-agonized and taught to kill, to fix radios, to drive trucks. We went, put in our time, and were equally ungraciously plucked out of the morass and placed back in the real world of our own nation where we were more hated than by the enemy we fought

Now and then we smoked dope, shot dope, or drank heavily. Our Wives, husbands or friends seemed distant and strange and still do at many times. Our family lives have been shattered and this still happen because of the difficulty to understand the emotions of the Vietnam veteran and their war.
Our friends wanted to know if we shot anybody. And life went on, had been going on, as if we hadn't been there, as if Vietnam was a topic of political conversation or college protest or news copy, not a matter of life and death for the tens of thousands.

Vietnam vets are people just like you. We served our country, proudly or reluctantly or ambivalently. What makes us different–what makes us Vietnam vets–is something we understand, but we are afraid nobody else will. But we
appreciate your asking. Vietnam veterans are white, black, beige and shades of gray. Our ancestors came from Africa, from Europe, and China. Or they crossed the Bering Sea Land Bridge in the last Ice Age and formed the nations of American Indians, built pyramids in Mexico, or farmed acres of corn on the banks of Chesapeake Bay. We had names like Rodriguez, Stein, Smith and Kowalski. We were Americans, Australians, Canadians, and Koreans; but most Vietnam veterans are Vietnamese. We were farmers, students, mechanics, steelworkers, nurses, and priests when the call came that changed us all forever. We had dreams and plans, and they all had to change…or wait. We were daughters and sons, lovers and poets, beatniks and philosophers, convicts and lawyers. We were rich and poor. We were educated or not. We grew up in slums, in hacks, in duplexes, bungalows and houseboats, hooches and ranches. We were cowards and heroes. Sometimes we were cowards one moment and heroes the next. Many of us have never seen Vietnam before. We waited at home for those we loved. And for some of us, our worst fears were realized. For others, our loved ones came back but never would be the same. We came home as some marched in protest. And others in veteran’s parades, sucked in tear gas, and shrieked our anger and horror for all to hear. Or we sat alone in small rooms, in VA, Naval, and Army hospital wards, in places where only the crazy ever go. We are Republicans, Democrats, Socialists, and Confucians, Buddhists and Atheists though as usually is the case, even the atheists among us sometimes prayed to get out of there alive.
We are hungry, and we are sated, full of life or clinging to death. We are injured, and we are curers, despairing and hopeful, loved or lost. We got too old too quickly, but some of us have never grown up. We want, desperately, to go back, to heal wounds, revisit the sites of our horror, or we want never to see that place again, to bury it, its memories, it’s meaning.

We want to forget and yet we wish we could remember. Despite our differences, we have so much in common. There are few of us who don't know how to cry, though we often do it alone when nobody will ask "what's wrong?" We're afraid we might have to answer.

I'm a Vietnam Veteran; and, after 40 years, and after the First Gathering in Washington DC at the Vietnam Memorial Wall on March 17, 2007 I finally understood what that means.

And now as we again Gather this Sept 15th we shall stand as a family, as one in honor as we make it known and clear that we will not allow anyone nor any group to do to these men and women of honor who now fight or who have returned home to do what they then did to us those many years ago.

IMAGINE the STENCH on the National Mall this past weekend!
These types aren't well-known for their hygiene.

They were out in force this past weekend.
The usual suspects...and their offspring, their litters, their spawns
...their former nonviable tissue-masses!
Although all could not make it...Abby Hoffman (now simply known as "peat"), just couldn't, like, rise up, for one more protest...they did have the Queen of anti-war harlots, Hanoi-Jane Fonda, as well as her wanna-be clone, windy-Cindy Sheehan! Code-Pink, A.N.S.W.E.R., World Socialists, United for Peace, (Untied for Defeat), Veterans for Peace, (just to add some "we're for the troops" color to the mob), Anarchists, ACLUseless, Greenpuss err, peace.
You know the mob.
You can tell by the smell that they really weren't that well.
So what do they want this time?
Same as the last time.
United States OUT of __________ (fill in the blank).
These people aren't happy unless the United States is bent over saying, "put it right here". Oh yeah, there was the obligatory "rainbow flag" scattered about too.
(Of course, when was the last time you saw a "Pride Parade" in an Islamic country?)!
So. Washington has not seen a protest the likes of this since the Viet-Nam war! Yeah, the LAST time this sorry group of ungrateful malcontents did their level best to defeat freedom and defend totalitarianism and the mass killing of innocents!
How many signs said: "BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!!!"?
(So we can spit on them all at once).

NOW?
Well that really makes sense!
Of course, it likely IS what they want.

What happened when we left Viet-Nam?
Pol-Pot.
Khmer Rouge.
The killing fields.
Re-education camps.
Mass slaughter.

Not a whole lot of massive protests took place on the National Mall when those things were going on!
It seems that these cretins only crawl out of the woodwork when America is fighting and dying to bring freedom and democracy to a nation.
Communism, and Socialism, and Islamo-fascism has destroyed more countries and kept more people in poverty and misery than any other form of governing. Look around the world and see where people are miserable.
Then look and see where people are FREE.
Chances are, the FREE countries, where people can better their lives and are free to do so, are...what a surprise...DEMOCRACIES!

What we saw in D.C. was only the beginning.
Although certainly not the first time since this war began, the first reported anti-troop action took place at this "peaceful, support the troops, bring them home" march.
A young Iraq war veteran who lost a leg while in defense of his country and the good people of Iraq, was spat upon. Another surprise!
The peaceful, tolerant, celebration of diversity showed it's true colors...
and it wasn't a rainbow folks...it was the color of hate.
Black as the soul of the vile animal that chose to spit.
Sound familiar? Remember the troops returning from Viet-Nam. They too were routinely spat upon and called baby-killers.
I remember.
My brother was one of them.
It's only a matter of time. They've already tried to disparage the entire military via Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, Haditha, and Fallujah. It didn't take...not yet. But time will tell. We now have a Congress happy to accept calling our troops Nazi's, and claiming that Abu Ghraib simply reopened under "new management".
The winds of change are indeed blowing.
This weekend was just the first big, anti-war rally.
There WILL be more.
They WILL get worse.
And have no doubt, if "Support the Troops...bring them Home" doesn't work, blaming them will become more and more the norm.
Hey, it worked during 'Nam!
Take a good look at the footage. READ some of the posters and their vile messages. Look at some of the "people" marching...the self described "anarchists" who spray-painted slogans on the Capital steps. These people aren't interested in "peace", and "harmony", and "diversity" and all that crap.
They want now what they wanted in Viet-Nam...the defeat of America in war.
Who cares what happens afterwards.
Is this what we want deciding policy?
I'll go ahead and say it...
They ARE anti-American.
They ARE UN-Patriotic.
They ARE for the defeat of America.
And don't let them fool you.
They are NOT "for the troops".
Oh...and boo-freakin'-hoo to all you libs if you're "offended" by my saying it...
It's the TRUTH...something you rarely delve into.

Arlington Wreath Project

Each year Worcester Wreath Company donates 5000 wreaths to be placed on the graves at Arlington National Cemetery to honor our Veterans during the holidays.

Some say that all is lost here in America...that we have lost our "soul".
Then, once in a while, a story such as this comes around. And we're reminded just how lucky we are to live in this Land of the Free...and Home of the Brave.

May God Bless Mr. Worcester, his family, friends and his employees. They are truly filled with the true meaning of Christmas, and this holiday season.

Please watch this video. Keep in mind those who have given all to protect our freedom...especially at this time of year.

(Who cares if there aren't any slaves and that they were freed by a Republican 150 years ago...the Reverend Jesse wants his pound of flesh...and kickback).
* No more pollution!

Trimesters? We don't need no stinkin' TRImesters!
* Christopher Reeve will WALK again!!!...(Whoops).
* OK...ummm...Parkinsons will be cured! That's it!
* Global warming will be a thing of the past! Kyoto here we come!
* A Prius in every Rainforest!
* No more nasty hurricanes!...or victims of them!!!
* Our troops will be home from Iraq, (Bush's war), by "the holiday"!

How ironic, that on the very day that the blubbering boob fom Boston would spew his latest volley toward the military he so obviously loathes, I would receive my invitation to my nephew's commissioning into the
United States Marine Corps, (what a moron).
After graduating at the top of his class from a prestigious Virginia University in May 2006, this volunteer will be in Marine Corps Flight Training until he is called, as his father was, and his father before him, to defend the very land that the Senator is so quick to disparage.
Prior to my nephew's commissioning, he will undergo a rite of passage and commitment to God and country, that I'm quite sure Mr. Kerry would find difficult at best to comprehend. For it is an honorable rite, that is traditional to warriors preparing for the defense of those at home. All foreign to this insect of a man.
I've included the sequence of events the night before, leading to the day of this brave young man's transition from ordinary man, to Marine. (Or perhaps as the Senator would describe, from moron to lemming). Oh how I mock the Demoncrat Party for tolerating this pantload for as long as they have!

I wore the uniform of the United States Air Force and stood in harms way for my country, as did many of the people who today, once again, are disgusted by this vile, yellow-bellied, war protesting disgrace to the uniform. My three brothers, and my father are all military veterans, each from a different branch. ALL of us were college educated. Hardly the "stupid" that you claim get "sent to Iraq". You insult us all with your condescending pap. You sir have no honor.

Now THERE'S a candidate that'll reach across the aisle to get things done!

His campaign has been one desperate lie about Lieberman after another. The latest being his support of the "Joe hasn't proved to us that he did anything for civil rights in the 60's" crowd.
Joe kind of slapped him down today...lucky Ned didn't get The Light Finger pointed at him!

And Ned's real believable when it comes to his history too...
His "man of the people" image...surrounded by the "troubled youth" that he gave a hand up to...give us a break Neddy. Do your kids hang with those kids?
His "built up my own business" bull. Yeah Ned, I guess if my grandfather were chairman of J.P. Morgan in their heyday, I might be a bit more able to "start from scratch" myself!

*She was 69 years old.
*She was from Bayonne, New Jersey.
*Married in 1958...the year I was born.
*Mother to five children...I come from a family of five.
*Famed for her meatloaf...as was my own Mom.
*A devout Roman Catholic...like my Mom.
*Worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone...I worked for Southern New England Telephone.
How ironic that I would randomly receive Patricia to honor on this 5th year since she was taken from us all.

Patricia got on a plane expecting a vacation in San Francisco, (a city her children raved about), with her sister-in-law and best friend, Jane Folger.
Her family never saw her again.

Patricia Cushing...just ONE, of almost THREE THOUSAND AMERICANS who died that beautiful Fall day...five years ago.
Do you remember that morning?
Remember where you were...
what you were doing...
whom you were with...
the day that EVERYTHING changed?

I remember it like yesterday. I had "bad dreams" the night before.
Oddly enough, they were about a plane crash. But that's the only similarity.
My dreams were personal to my own experience. But none the less,
I lost a LOT of sleep in the wee hours of September 11, 2001.
I chose to call out from work that day.
I decided to turn on FoxNews "just 'till 9am...then I'll go back to bed".
I never got back to bed.

At 0903, while talking to my Father on the telephone, both of us witnessed
Flight 175 out of Boston fly into the South Tower.
I wanted make the two hour drive to NYC right then and there...but 18 minutes later,
the city was shut down...no one in, no one out.
At 0921 New York City was closed.
At 0925 all domestic flights are grounded by the FAA.
At 0945, American Flight 77 out of Dulles, flew into the Pentagon.
At 1005 the South Tower collapsed.
History...awful history.
We...are...at...war.

Flight 93 took off from Newark Airport at 0801.
By 1005, New York City was closed off from the rest of the country...from the rest of the world. And New York's skyline had changed forever.

Fifty-six passengers, two pilots, seven flight attendants, and four madmen were on Flight 93.
Some of the innocent on board had already been slaughtered by radical followers of
"the religion of peace".
It was time for the others to join ranks. By now they knew that this was no ordinary "take me to Cuba" hijacking. They had been on their cell phones...They knew...they knew.
They had just been thrust into a situation that none had expected.
They knew that they were all that stood between the madmen, and another building getting hit
...possibly the Capitol, or the White House.
They knew what they had to do...and they did it.
That's what we Americans DO.

We often hear the term "the heroes of Flight 93". And yes, that's exactly what they were.
As a plaque in the field where they stopped the madness reads:
This day ordinary Americans took extraordinary steps
to help their fellow Americans
and by doing so gave the greatest sacrifice.

Patricia was among those brave, ordinary Americans.

Perhaps old Marcus was gazing into a crystal ball at last night's democrat primary in Connecticut when he came up with that little quip of wisdom.

And by ranks of the insane standards, we ain't seen nothin' yet!

With a primary campaign that was marked by vicious, racist, and anti-Semitic charges against "the conscience of the Senate", the party of diversity and tolerance is about to let loose the lions on this Jew who has the gall to stick to his principles and not bow to the "hate Bush at all costs", (even the security of America) crowd.
After all folks, there's just no room in the BIG TENT democrat party for people with principles...not anymore!
I can hear them chanting now...
NO PRINCIPLES OVER PARTY...NO PRICIPLES OVER PARTY!!!
Now I'm no fan of a lot of Joe's positions. In fact, the first time I voted for him was as a protest vote against King Lowell. (Weicker-the-Wanker...and he still is one), who after being beat by Lieberman, went on to scr*w each and every citizen of Connecticut for taking away his coveted Senate seat.

You see, King Lowell-the-Large went on to run for Governor of this blue state on the campaign slogan, "implementing an income tax would be like throwing gasoline on a fire". I believe it was under the
A Connecticut Party, (ACP) banner. Ironic that ACP are also the initials of the American Communist Party huh? He was promptly elected by people foolish enough to trust him! (Useful idiots)?
He then paid us back by immediately implementing the dreaded tax he was elected NOT to impose! But hey, he was King Lowell-the-Large...perfection unto himself!
That'll show the silly nutmeggers to throw MY overly plump posterior out of Washington!

Anyway, I ended up actually liking Joe Lieberman, and have voted for him ever since.
The only time Joe didn't get my vote was the only time he compromised his own integrity and ran with Ali-Gorba, (of the Tennessee Gores). Had Joe been at the TOP of that ticket, it may have been a whole different ball game.
But the TOP of the ticket is no place for a Jew
...not in the party of diversity and tolerance.
We just want your votes, not your moral compass!

So Joe is now attacked by his own party, (egged on by Large Lowell the Loser by the way),
just a few years after serving as their own Vice-Presidential candidate...

Remember the weeks following September 11th, 2001, when we saw the AMERICAN flag almost everywhere?

I remember counting the cars flying it on the way to work one day...36...not bad.
That number doesn't include the amount I saw flying in front of homes and from rooftops everywhere.

Tomorrow has been dubbed, A Day Without Immigrants.

It should be more ACCURATELY called, a day without ILLEGAL immigrants. That IS the point they're trying to make after all, isn't it?

How about this: A DAY WITHOUT IGNORANCE. (Let face it folks, they have a pretty asinine premise to protest).

What we're really going to have is:
a day where a load of people, here ILLEGALLY, and their self-serving supporters, want to stick it to the American economy to show us how much we "need" them.

So let's get this straight. People who came here to "do the jobs Americans won't do", will NOT be doing the jobs that Americans won't do, to prove to us how much we need them to do those jobs...right?

The people who came here because "they deserve a better life", (AHEAD of the people who are LEGALLY waiting in line to come here for a better life by the way), will NOT be going to work, (for that better life)...right?

Instead...

They'll be flying a FOREIGN flag.

They'll be signing a "new" National Anthem, in Spanish of course. (As if they don't have ENOUGH here that's in Spanish already).

They'll be DEMANDING that we IGNORE our own laws. (Laws are for chumps, dude).

They'll be waving American flags UPSIDE DOWN...unless their handlers can get them to be calm about it.

They'll be marching in the streets instead of going to school...(which WE pay for them to clog and use the resources of, that our LEGAL citizens DON'T get).
Hey...maybe we can get into an Emergency Room tomorrow and not have to wait seven hours!

The list goes on and on.
And anyone who denies that the list is real is part of the problem, NOT part of the solution.

So, what can AMERICANS do tomorrow?

By a coward who wants nothing else but to bring down a President at all costs, and in turn bring down the very idea of America...he's as good as Goebbels at it too. So beware the rotund one...but that's another article for another day.
Today...April 28, 2006...1,688 days since our 21st century Day of Infamy, the first theatrical release of a story of American heroism, is on the big screen. There will be more, covering the many other heroes from that day. But today there's just one, about the plane that didn't make it to it's target. It's a movie about Americans doing what Americans do...fighting together and giving their lives to save others. The good of the many outweighs the good of the few.
And it's a good movie.

Here are excerpts from her statement made after she was free and back in the hands of AMERICANS.
In the past few days, the U.S. military and officials have been extremely generous, and I am grateful for their help. Throughout this ordeal, many U.S. agencies have committed themselves to bringing me safely home.
Not quite the kind of statements that came out of the ungrateful ones who were RESCUED by the military as noted in my last post.
Here's another part...
Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not. The people who kidnapped me and murdered Alan Enwiya are criminals, at best. They robbed Alan of his life and devastated his family. They put me, my family and my friends - all those around the world - who have prayed so fervently for my release - through a horrific experience. I was, and remain, deeply angry with the people who did this.
Remember folks, this woman was released only after being forced to lie about her country and it's leaders...and she has the class, and guts to tell us so.
Out of fear I said I wasn't threatened. In fact, I was threatened many times.
Also, at least two false statements about me have been widely aired: One, that I refused to travel and cooperate with the U.S. military and two, that I refused to discuss my captivity with U.S. officials. Again, neither statement is true.

3 Western Aid Workers in Iraq Rescued in Military Operation

Some news outlets are reporting the story as: "Peace Activists Released"...as if out of the kindness of their captors hearts, they simply let them go. A fourth captor was brutally beaten, tortured, and killed. His body dumped on a street to be found by the locals.
This fourth "aid worker", (who may have had to wear underwear on his head before being killed), won't be available for a statement at this time.
But the three that were RESCUED BY THE MILITARY, (Americans and Brits), have made statements regarding their release.
I've read those statements, and conspicuously missing was any mention of the fact that it was the very military "occupiers" they so loath that facilitated their RESCUE! Not a hint of respect or gratitude for the people who risked their lives to save them!

What a surprise.
These "Christians" certainly know their creed huh?

What Would Jesus Do?
Well, I may just be guessing...but I'm pretty sure that JESUS may have done the "Christian thing", and at least said "thank you" !!!

There's a special place in heaven for the rescuers.
There's a special place in hell for the captors.
There must be a special place reserved for ungrateful "Western Aid Workers" too.

Well folks, Today is FAT TUESDAY.
That means that tomorrow, is Ash Wednesday, or The Beginning of Lent.

Lent is a forty-day period before Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday. We skip Sundays when we count the forty days, because Sundays commemorate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Peace Be Upon Him...and all of His followers).
Lent begins on 1 March 2006 and ends on 15 April 2006, which is the day before Easter.
In the Roman Catholic Church, Lent officially ends at sundown on 13 April (Holy Thursday), with the beginning of the mass of the LordÃ’s Supper.

In MY world, it's OK to be any religion you'd like without fear of persecution...or getting your head sawed off...or your Embassy being burned to the ground.
Catholics do strange things like, get ashes in the form of a Cross on their foreheads, (to remind us and those who see us, that from the earth we come, and to the earth we shall return).
No. It's not a smudge of dirt, as some of you in the airport and elsewhere are so kind to point out to we believers.
We get this sign tomorrow, on Ash Wednesday. So be prepared NOT to say, "Hey dude, like you got some dirt on your forehead man", and things like that, OK?
Of course, I won't demand an apology or try to kill you for not knowing about my religion. I won't demand that you live as a Dhimmi in my world. I won't form a mob and march through the streets demanding a boycott of your goods. I'll just tell you that it's Ash Wednesday and to myself, say a little prayer for you.
It's also traditional for us to "give something up for lent". This is usually something that we've become used to and enjoy, so that we can be reminded daily of the sacrifice that Christ made for mankind. Some people give up coffee. Some sugar. Chocolate. Swearing. Drinking. Salt, etc, etc. All common things that people "give up" for Lent.
This year, I've decided to give up being mean and sarcastic to and about people in my blog entries. No more negative sarcasm about Fat-boy Ted (hic) Kennedy, or that witch Hillary. Nope. This is FAT TUESDAY! Gotta get it all out. Ali Gorba, Michael (pig) Moore, Jimmy the jerk Carter. TheReverendd Louis Fairy-can. All of these freaks, er, folks are tabu for the next 40 days. It won't be easy. But that's what this is all about.
I'll have nothing but positive things to say!
Until my after Easter post, (that's the day Christ rose from the dead...NOT the day the bunny gives you candy), I'll be on my best behavior.
Just thought I'd let ya'll know so you don't wonder if I've lost my mind...or you yours.
Hey here's one last thought. Maybe the leaders of the Democrat Party could give up being complete traitors in this war we're fighting. Maybe they can support the troops and mean it. Except for MaryJo Copechne, who can't speak about anything anymore. (Not since "the conscience of the Senate" left her for dead one drunken night oh so long ago).
I've recently been accused of walking "lock-step" behind the Republican Party.
Now let's first get this straight. Usually it's the Republican party that's lockstep behind ME!...got it?

And I don't ALWAYS agree with the Bush administration...if you've been reading any of my work. His border security/immigration policy is, well, awful at best. And I don't like the fact that he hasn't said in front of the U.N. General Assembly, "next attack by whacko Islamofascists on American soil?...Mecca gets vaporized"
It really should be in the hands of the Arab "leaders", these so-called "moderate voices of reason" in the Arab world, to police their own crazed maniacal mind numbed idiots. America has enough problems keeping Ali Gorba in check, let alone chasing Bin-hidin' anymore. Let's just lay it on the line. Pull another stunt like 9-11...pull a Madrid or a London on us???...or even think of throwing even a stink bomb in a schoolyard in the name of Allah?...then obviously you WANT a "holy war".

Why do I seem to always complain about the Demoncrats as I do?

I grew up in a family of good, hardworking loyal American Democrats. People who were kind, caring, staunchly patriotic, and fair minded about everything, and toward anyone. I still have Aunt's and Uncles and cousins that are good Democrats...so there are some out there!
But the current leadership of the Democrat party just doesn't hold any of these traits, and it really ticks me off because it offends and degrades the memory of the GOOD Democrats that went before them. THAT'S WHY I complain!
The last good Democrat in a leadership role was JFK, and his pudgy brother is a far cry from HIM. Hell JFK would be considered a conservative by todays standards, and his own brother would be calling for his public hanging!
The last good Democrats that are just "regular Joes" are somewhere in New Britain, Connecticut wondering who it was that hijacked their party!
When you have a party that is so filled with hate toward the President of the United States, that they're willing to openly show distain for the troops that are fighting during wartime, and you see and hear them actually AIDING and ABBETTING the enemy, you have a party that has lost it's soul.
It's not so much that I'm "all pro-Bush", and follow "lock-step" to the tune of the Republicans.
I DO support Democrats...Democrats that support AMERICA. But there just ain't that many of 'em left! Joe Lieberman seems to be IT...and they hate him for it.
There's a group of whinning crybaby anti-war wimps in Connecticut that are trying to put up a candidate to run against Joe.
They call him a Bush ass-kisser.
Cute.
The ONE Democrat that "gets it" in this war on terror, and they hate him for it.

I just cannot fathom the blind hate that the Democrat party shows, and I will point it out at every opportunity I can to try and convince GOOD Democrats to take their party back!

To my comment section crowd, i.e. Chris aka Phred, J. Walker, and anonymous, I'm sorry but you guys get the blame for my blog going down. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but your three-way pissing contest just happened to coincide with the only trouble I've ever had with this blog.
After several attempts, I was able to get in and do some maintenance.
One of those fixes was to temporarily, (I hope) suspend the comment section.
While I appreciate respectful critiques of my words, when it comes right down to it, they are MY words, and MY thoughts...not yours. As the civil libertarians are so quick to remind us, "if you don't like the channel, change it". Well, if you don't like my blog, don't read it. If you disagree with what I've said, fine, tell me you disagree. But the broken record approach is just plain annoying. And PLEASE don't use my comments section as your own personal bitch forum complete with dick measuring contest.

Once one becomes accustomed to a drug, the addict needs more and more to satisfy his need for the “high”. But as with any drug, the eventual effect of overuse can be toxic. Murtha’s drug of choice? I don’t know. Perhaps it’s the celebrity of being the 15-minute-darling, of the anti-war lemmings of Amerika. Maybe it’s the money from the MoveON types, the Soros crowd, or his new found Hollywood-left friends. Perhaps it’s amnesia. PTSD? Or maybe he really HAS gone over to the dark side.
Remember, Benedict Arnold was once a patriot too.
I choose to believe that it’s the drug of celebrity that has him firmly in its grasp. But like the addict, he definitely needs rehabilitation. He needs a long rest. He needs to retire. One thing we Americans DO NOT NEED...is more John Murtha!

Assuming that each bus has a capacity to safely carry 50 to 60 people, let's go with the LOWER of the two figures.
50 x 230 = 11,500 people.
This would be the amount of people that could be evacuated on just ONE run, from this ONE bus yard.
Why are these buses sitting here, flooded?
C. Ray Nagin, Mayor of New Orleans has been quite vocal about the lack of speed at which rescue efforts have taken place...and he has a point. It's tough to get into a city that's underwater. It's even tougher to get OUT of one...especially when there's hundreds of busses that COULD have been used, sitting flooded in now useless yards.
But perhaps methinks thou protesteth too much Mr. Nagan.
Mayor, maybe you were never in the military. So maybe you were never versed in the "6 P-Program" - Prior Planning Prevent Piss-Poor Performance. Wasn't it you that announced a MANDATORY evacuation of the city? Did ya think that the poor people would just magically fly out? Were you, or were you not elected to serve and PROTECT the citizens of New Orleans? ALL OF THEM? Did you NOT see the NOAA bulletins regarding the severity of Katrina and the possibility of TOTAL disaster? I did, and I live in Connecticut!
I look at the school busses above. I read the weather report PRIOR to the storm hitting. I hear your outrage, and somehow it seems shallow at best. Why weren't these busses sent into poor neighborhoods to get the people to safety? And somehow it's hard to believe that the city of New Orleans didn't have rescue boats at it's disposal...does BELOW SEA LEVEL ring a bell? If not the city, then citizen volunteers who DO have boats should have been activated to save some people. There was a story of a courageous man, who "stole" a bus and loaded it with strangers and got the hell out of the city. Those people were saved by someone who never knew them, (or asked for their votes). Perhaps you should have considered an equally courageous act. Maybe YOU are the person who doesn't give a rat's butt about the poor in your community...after all, it IS your community isn't it? It is your city. Somehow after the storm hits, and it's virtually impossible to get into New Orleans IMMEDIATELY, it's Washington's fault that people are stuck there? What the hell where these poor people still doing there in the first place? Was there no evacuation plan for the poor? You did know there were poor people in New Orleans...right? Did you not know where they were? I'll bet you knew at election time. In a city that's located BELOW SEA LEVEL I find it hard to believe that there was NO prior large scale evacuation plan in place to deal with the thousands of poor people who would NOT be able to jump into their SUV's and scidadle! Now you come out with...it's WASHINGTON'S FAULT??? You arrogant toad! YOU are the Mayor!
What the hell were you thinking?
I see that you were able to find a bus to pack with TOURISTS that were trapped in a hotel and get them safely to the front of the line and out of town. I'm sure that the people of New Orleans will appreciate your doing your best for the tourist industry in town, and they'll be sure to remember your thoughtfulness...as they bury their dead...and the next time they vote.
Good job Ray, you're right on the ball.
Maybe playing the race card will get you great kudos from the media elite, but the people of New Orleans, your constituents, (even the POOR ones), are smarter than that...and may just have longer memories than you'd like.

Shame Mom

I've come to the conclusion, that "Peace Mom" needs to be revisited. Just because "W" won't meet with her...again...doesn't mean that I can't revisit the issue!
I'm beginning to believe that her HERO son volunteered,
(that means... went on his own free will for you lefty liberal types), to serve his country, mostly out of raw patriotism...but quite possibly to also get as far away from his whacko mother as possible!
Unfortunately, it cost poor Casey his life.
If she can claim that "George Bush killed my son", then I or anyone else can make the connection that, "no sweetie, YOU killed him".
And now she's killing his memory. Typical liberal..."it's all about me".
That may sound a bit harsh, but it just might be closer to the truth than any of us realize!
Now it seems she's had to leave her ditch in Crawford to venture back to VACANTville, to tend to her own mother who's apparently suffered a stroke. My prayers are with the poor woman.
But has anyone considered the possibility that grandma may have suffered this attack due in part to the ravings of her lunatic daughter?
Her, (windy-Cindy's), constant face of the fringe being plastered on the nightly news for the past few weeks has got to be a strain on the sane members of her family!
Just look at the statistics:
Her other son has asked her to stop it and just come home.
Her husband has filed for divorce.
Other family members have stated that she doesn't speak for them.
And now her own mother has suffered a stroke!
And just wait 'till the ACLUsless finds out that she's putting CROSSES on personal property...horrors! (Notice no Stars of David by the way...no room for those dirty-jews in Windy's world).
But does Cindy care??? Hell no! I've got to join my new friends and GET BUSH OUT!

I have no "feelings of pity" for this pathetic pawn of the criminals who want nothing more than to bring this country down. I'm supposed to, and at one point, I did. She alone knows best how to handle the Palestinian matter with Israel...just get those hateful jews to stop dying on those buses that the poor Palestinians are trying to ride peacefully to work.
Never mind that Israel is our ONLY friend in the Middle-East.

The Great Raid

Went to see The Great Raid http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0326905/ last night with my Dad, (a WWII Veteran himself). If you haven't heard about it, it's the true story of the most successful rescue in US Military history…a rescue of over 500 POW's from a Japanese camp in the Philippines.
(Come to think of it...why would anyone have heard about something like that)?
This movie is just one more example of why my Father's generation is called "the greatest generation". These were ordinary men, who did the extraordinary, with the expectation of no other reward, than to come home and get back to being ordinary Americans. With the aid of the underground and Philippine guerrillas, they accomplished a mission that had no military or geographical value...just to save a few men.
Flash to today:
Rescue...somehow I doubt it's a word that translates into Arabic.
This is a movie, that won't be nominated for any awards...we'll have none of that!
This movie won't get, and apparently hasn't gotten, any great reviews.
This movie likely won't bring in millions as a summer blockbuster.
Mirimax should be commended for putting out such a film...but they won't be.
None of that means that this movie shouldn't be seen. It should be required viewing by junior high and high school kids for history class, probably college too. Something tells me it won't happen.
Micheal-I-hate-America-Moore, and Dick-look at my turban-Durbin, should see this movie. Perhaps they'd change their tune. But again, I doubt it.
For some reason, maybe respect...maybe fear...Hollywood can still produce a war movie that doesn't make the American soldier look like a baby-killer...provided it's about World War II.
We get into Korea, or heavens no, Viet-Nam, and suddenly our troops are "conflicted". They're unsure of why we're there...or what our role should be. They have no comeraderie. They shoot women and children in drug-induced rampages through civilian villages of no military value. This is the Hollywood of today. One exception: We Were Soldiers. But then again, that wasn't really a Hollywood movie was it? That movie was made by that Christian-nutcase...Mel Gibson. We all know what he's about! Silly things like honour. God. Country.
Hint...See that movie too!
So. Should you buck the trend and go see this film?
Yeah. It'll do you good.
It'll remind you of where we've been and what kind of stuff we're made of.
It'll make you think twice the next time you hear some buffoon on the Senate floor comparing OUR troops to the Nazi's or Pol Pot.
And maybe, just maybe, the next time you go to a parade...and you see that old man...standing alone...saluting as the American Flag goes by?
You won't wonder..."what's he doing?"
No. This time, maybe you'll go up and thank him.

An Old Hero Returns...A New One Goes.

On this coming Saturday, a small church in Cromwell, CT will hold a service for a fallen hero. No, he's not the latest casualty of this war against terrorist scum. He's a hero from the war that we've finally started to show some respect for the heroes of...Viet-Nam.
Marine Lance Cpl. Thomas W. Fritsch has been MIA for longer than the 21 years of life he had on this earth. He died in a firefight outside of Da Nang along with 11 of his comrades in May of 1968. He was set to return home just two months later. It's been 37 years, but he's finally come.
Fritsch went to E.C. Goodwin Technical School in New Britain, CT, graduating in 1966. He was active in the Boys Scouts, and a Volunteer Fireman for the town of Portland, CT. He was an American. One of the real ones.
I was only 9 years old when he died. My brother was in Viet-Nam around the same time. Thomas sounds like the kind of guy who'd get along just fine with my brother. These were the boys that picked up and went off to an unpopular war to defend America and the world from the spread of Communism. These were men who knew the meaning of the words duty, and honour. Gallant knights of their day, the heroes of their time. Unlike those who sat back here, on their useless pimpled asses...smoking pot and belching out venom against their country, spitting on those who went in their place to fight and die. Or worse, went to Viet-Nam only to get a few hundred feet of "action footage", a few scratches, (Purple Heart material), and some good stories for your eventual campaign for President. Forget that you also return only to join the stateside scum that spit on your returning "band of brothers".
REAL heroes go to war...and fight honourably for their country...and either die on the battlefield, or return with honor, knowing that they did their job. People like my brother, and Thomas Fritsch of Cromwell were, and are, true heroes.
Add to this the news of yet another American hero. A Pat Tilmanesque story out of New Britain, CT. The New Britain Rock Cats, AA Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins baseball team, (I knew I liked the Twins), had a celebration send off for Tony Stevens just last night. Stevens left the team in 2001, shortly after the spineless attack on America by Islamofascist pigs, to join the U.S. Marine Corps.
He has since served TWO tours in Iraq, surviving 11 roadside and car bombings. And he's going back for his third in November. The Rock Cats felt it was time to to once again honour one of their own...and the crowd went wild! The Governor of Connecticut declared Wednesday, "Tony Stevens Day". I pray that he returns to play again.
The latte-sipping, Birkenstock wearing, croisant crowd likely looks down their coke-filled noses at people the likes of Tony Stevens, just as their filthy counterparts did at Thomas Fritsch.
But REAL Americans know who REAL heroes are, and where they reside. Not on the big screen or the basketball courts, or the ball fields. Real heroes can't be seen every day these days...because they're off to war...fighting for freedom for us all...even those who will never appreciate it.

Going to the dogs

Well, in line with yesterday's rant. What's PETA's stand on this little ditty?
It appears now, that after running low on little children and mindless Islamofascist drones to carry out their murderous plans, ("ahh Shatha, they blow up so fast"), the latest tactic by the insurgent scum in Iraq is to recruit dogs to carry their homicide bomb attacks.
Of course, we use dogs too. But ours are used to bark at predetors, look for explosives, bite the enemy, things like that. And at the end of the day, we pet them, feed them, let them sleep at our feet, and generally care for them.
You see, everyone likes dogs, whether they be for petting...or eating, (depending on your earthly region).
The difference being, our dogs come back to camp at night...alive.
My question is this. Are they told that 72 virgin bitches will meet them in doggy heaven, (unlike the current "virgin" bitches that meet their human counterparts in hell)?
And what does our favourite animal rights group have to say about all this? It's probably against the tenets of their faith to condemn something that ultimately kills American troops and makes Bush look bad.
My guess is that we'll hear nothing from PETA on this. They're too busy thinking up their next poster campaign. Rumour has it, they're considering a three-pronged approach this time...linking retarded children, cancer patients, and AIDS sufferer's with a cattle slaughterhouse. "Is their suffering any different"?
I'm not sure how many other groups they can piss off, but they're trying!
So, Suicide Bitches from Syria eh? Sounds like a Dino DeLaurentis movie in the making.

Well, good old wacko PETA is in the news again.
This time a flash from New Haven, Connecticut.
According to the New Haven Register,
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, a national animal rights group, posted giant photographs of people, mostly black Americans, being tortured, sold and killed, next to photographs of animals, including cattle and sheep, being tortured, sold and killed.
"I think it is an apt comparison," said Josh Warchol, 26, of Wallingford, president of the Southern Connecticut Vegetarian Society, which is aligned with PETA.
Way to go JOSH...what a schmuck!
They hoped to "generate a dialogue" by the posters. A dialogue is what they got.
One man demanded that the NAACP get involved immediately. Five minutes later, Scot X. Esdaile, president of the state and Greater New Haven chapters of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, arrived at the scene, surveyed the photos and blasted the organizers."Once again, black people are being pimped. You used us. You have used us enough," Esdaile said. "Take it down immediately.""I am a black man! I can’t compare the suffering of these black human beings to the suffering of this cow," said Michael Perkins, 47, of New Haven. He stood in front of a photo of butchered livestock hung next to the photo of two lynched black men dangling before a white mob.
Next stop? Scranton, Pa., then Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Should be a real hit with the African-American Community in those areas!
I truly hope that the NAACP follows them wherever they go, (along with the JDL).
After all, this is the very same friendly PETA that brought us photos from the Holocaust along with similar livestock comparisons. Another had a photo showing a concentration camp inmate with a number tattooed across his emaciated chest was juxtaposed against a shot of a monkey in a laboratory with a number branded across its chest.

Hey, what's up with this "Mother" who's camping out at "W"'s ranch?
While I certainly feel for her loss, perhaps her anger is misdirected. Maybe it's even a bit... overdone? Funny how she's all of a sudden, "running the circuit" in the MSM. Can you say "useful idiot"?
It seems like just last year, she was singing a different tune, basically praising the prez and even stating that he brought her family the "gift of happiness".

Since then, more good men and women have died in Iraq.

Well, then there's the constant drumbeat of the LOSERS in Washington, who will do and say anything to get the President...even to the point of endangering our troops. This woman is hurting, and will continue to hurt probably for the rest of her life. And I feel for her. Soon she'll be seen with Michael, (I'm a fat pantload) Moore, and Jimmy the Jerk Carter planting flowers in Berkely!

The mother from Vacaville, CA has apparently been sipping the Kool-Aide at her local democrat clubhouse. 'Cuz now she appears to be from Vacantville. Suddenly ol' "W" is satan himself, and the cause of all ills on this earthly plane.

How 'bout doing a poll of ALL the families of ALL those BRAVE American soldiers who've given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Let's see the results of an UNBIASED poll as to how they feel. Are they proud of their country and of their sons and daughters? Do they think that it's worth it, to sow the seeds of freedom in the Middle East?
THAT's a poll I'd like to see...and one that I'll accept as valid.
Enough with exploiting a grieving mother to further your attempts to bring down a President, and to undermine America's efforts overseas.
These creeps want another Viet-Nam catastrophe...and they won't stop 'till they have one.
It's the same players, the same tired arguements, the same freaks waving signs and marching against thier country. Only this time, if they win, we all lose.
