That day has come for Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania. ONCE a good man, probably still a good man...at home...with the kids. But he, and most of the Democrat Party, (and some RINOs), have lost their will.
So goes Jimmy (please shut-up) Carter, Nancy (did-I say-that?) Pelossi, Ted (hic) Kennedy, Joe (where's the camera) Biden, et al.
It didn’t take long.
I do believe that Mr. Murtha was once a strong, heroic, honorable man. But he has long since tasted the Kool-Aide of the left. Once one becomes accustomed to a drug, the addict needs more and more to satisfy his need for the “high”. But as with any drug, the eventual effect of overuse can be toxic. Murtha’s drug of choice? I don’t know. Perhaps it’s the celebrity of being the 15-minute-darling, of the anti-war lemmings of Amerika. Maybe it’s the money from the MoveON types, the Soros crowd, or his new found Hollywood-left friends. Perhaps it’s amnesia. PTSD? Or maybe he really HAS gone over to the dark side.
Remember, Benedict Arnold was once a patriot too.
I choose to believe that it’s the drug of celebrity that has him firmly in its grasp. But like the addict, he definitely needs rehabilitation. He needs a long rest. He needs to retire. One thing we Americans DO NOT NEED...is more John Murtha!
Are you hearing this, people of Pennsylvania?
Mr. Murtha’s past duty and service to his country is unquestioned. But does that mean that he can never be wrong? Does the police officer that beats his wife get a pass? Does the fireman who becomes an arsonist deserve our continued praise for courage?
Does the war hero, turned TRAITOR still get a pat on the back and a parade? I say NO.
Mr. Murtha has joined the ranks of the dark forces that see this war as an impediment to power…their own power. He's joined the ranks of those willing to, no EAGER to; sacrifice the future freedom of the people of the United States and in turn the freedom of the peoples of the world…for political POWER. If America doesn't stand for freedom...who will?
This IS treason, plain and true.
His latest step closer to the abyss of actually aiding and abetting the enemy is, as recently stated on "Nightline", “Murtha says he wouldn’t join the military now”. This coming from a 37 year retired Marine colonel? Well guess what John? I doubt that today’s Marines would actually WANT to have your sorry ass fighting next to them anyway! No more than they'd like to have John Kerry as their Commander in Chief! (Good recruiting poster for Bin Laden's pals though)! So please John, just collect your campaign contributions from your new leftist, anti-American, pro-defeat, decaf-latte-drinking, Birkenstock-wearing, pot-smoking 60’s leftover friends, and shut the hell up will ya? Your 15 minutes are over. You’re soon to join the ranks of Cindy, (my son’s very SOUL is embarrassed for me) Sheehan, on the trash heap of has-been liberal "celebrities du Jour"…right where you belong.
